The LX Cutter Line Versatility

(Irving, TX March 5, 2013)
The commercial print industry is comprised of many different manufacturers, models, software packages, and pieces of equipment, and one important key to keeping it all running together smoothly is equipment flexibility.
The Lasermax-Stralfors LX cutter line uses a round cylinder drum with a knife blade mounted to the cylinder which creates a stable system at all speeds allowing the cutter to attach to any high speed printer available.  The LX cutter line is solid and capable for heavy usage.

Additionally, LX cutters are available in both Pinfed and Pinless operation with the capability to merge upper and lower paper paths, and by using a registration mark to insure page alignment integrity.

Stralfors LX Cutters provide for both sides to be trimmed, plus both single and double slitting allowing single sheet, double sheet or triple sheet cut options.

Besides the flexibility and durability the LX cutters have the following advantages:
  • Versatile and easy to understand making them easily adjusted for a variety of forms and cutting setups
  • Easy to maintain, operate and setup, making them very operator friendly
  • Part are readily available
  • LX Cutters have a maintenance tool that allows the technician to turn on, monitor and adjusted specific motors and electronic devices Individually for a more thorough and complete troubleshooting procedure.
Stralfors LX Cutter Disadvantages:
  • Do not have the ability to produce a Chipout and remove excess paper between cuts
  • Have a fairly large Foot print that includes a cutter, a midfeed section and a stacker    that must be attached together
  • The blade has a tendency to vibrate and produce a noise while not turning that can be minimized by an adjustment of the drive clutch chassis but cannot be eliminated.

As you can see although there are a few considerations for functionality and footprint, the Lasermax-Stralfors LX cutter line provides wide array of solutions bringing simplicity and easy maintenance to a crowded marketplace.

We must [be] flexible and adaptable so that we can react quickly to the needs of our clients and our market place.
