The LASERMAX LX535 works with the LX561 or 562 Cutter and LX566 Stacker to allow slit merge processing of two-up forms using either pinless (562) or pinfed (561) paper. The LX535 is a slit merge module that is placed after the loop box and in front of the Cutter.
As the web exits the loop box it enters the slit merge module where it is slit in the center. A sensor is used to continuously monitor the web for side to side variations or movement and the slitter automatically adjusts to cut precisely at the center of the web. The resulting two webs are then merged right over left or left over right depending on the requirements of the pinless slit merge application. The infeed of the LX562 Cutter controls the top and bottom web independently allowing the exact alignment of the webs using optical mark readers. This ensures that both top and bottom pages are cut in the same location.
The LX535 provides the same flexibility of page formats available with traditional pinfed slit merge configurations. In addition, changing between slit merge applications and multiple-up is quick and easy requiring minimal setup. Located in the display screen of the Cutter, the LX500 Support System provides error detection and troubleshooting for the LX535.
